8-9 hours of continuous operation (40-60 stalls assuming 10 minutes per stall). This somewhat depends on the speed settings: lower speeds will result in longer battery life (closer to nine hours), and higher, more aggressive speed settings will result on lower battery life (six hours of continuous operation. But in any case, the included spare battery and charger means the Smart Sifter will be available to run 24/7!

Virtually none! There are no parts to grease or maintain in any way. We do recommend that after the first few days of operation you spend 10 minutes going through to make sure all the bolts are tight.
Generally speaking, if you can clean with a wheelbarrow and traditional manure fork while your horse is in the stall, you should be able to use the Smart Sifter with your horse is in the stall. With that said, as a horse person, you understand that every horse is different and have different demeanors.

Ideal shavings are “mini” or “micro” flake, but the Smart Sifter Pro does work with small and mid-size flakes as well, assuming the flakes are ½” or less in size.
Introduce material toward the back of the sifter. Utilize the back wall of the hopper so that most of the material is being introduced in the rear 4-6” of the sifter screen.
Adjust the speed such that the manure is moving quickly off the screen, but not so fast that the shavings don’t have a chance to fall through the screen.
If the sifter starts behaving abnormally and you can’t seem to get the speed correct, it’s likely time to replace the battery.
