8-9 hours of continuous operation (40-60 stalls assuming 10 minutes per stall). This somewhat depends on the speed settings: lower speeds will result in longer battery life (closer to nine hours), and higher, more aggressive speed settings will result on lower battery life (six hours of continuous operation. But in any case, the included spare battery and charger means the Smart Sifter will be available to run 24/7!

Virtually none! There are no parts to grease or maintain in any way. We do recommend that after the first few days of operation you spend 10 minutes going through to make sure all the bolts are tight.
Generally speaking, if you can clean with a wheelbarrow and traditional manure fork while your horse is in the stall, you should be able to use the Smart Sifter with your horse is in the stall. With that said, as a horse person, you understand that every horse is different and have different demeanors.

The Smart Sifter uses Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries, and it is important to manage the charging process responsibly. Never leave chargers unattended or charging in a location near flammable materials.
Even though the Smart Sifter is often used in stalls while the horse is in the stall, we do not assume responsibility for the safety of you or your horse. We say this because, as you already know, horses can be unpredictable. While we’ve never seen or experienced a safety issue related to the Smart Sifter, please be sure to use discretion as to horse behavior while using the Smart Sifter. Some horses have demeanors that are not conducive to cleaning with the horse in the stall.
